LIMP BIZKIT Frontman To Star In Comedy Project
October 13, 2011According to Deadline.com, LIMP BIZKIT frontman Fred Durst has signed a deal with CBS to star in a new sitcom. In the half-hour project, currently known as "Douchebag", Durst will star as a "rock legend" trying to juggle his family and his famous-person lifestyle. It will be written by Matthew Carlson ("Mr. Sunshine"),who will executive-produce with CBS TV studios-based producers Eric and Kim Tannenbaum. The idea was brought to the Tannenbaum Co. by Durst's manager/producer John Schneider who will serve as a non-writing producer.
Durst previously made guest appearances on "Revelations" and "House", as well as cameos in "Zoolander", "Be Cool" and "Pauly Shore Is Dead". He also has two feature directing credits on "The Education Of Charlie Banks" and "The Longshots".
